Paulo Pinho, MD

Chief Medical Officer

Dr. Pinho is currently the Chief Medical Officer of Preston Capital. He established his interest and acumen in clinical informatics from his prior role as the Vice President & Medical Director of Innovation for Diameter Health, now an Availity Solution, where he provided clinical expertise and thought leadership on existing and emerging regulations, quality measures, healthcare data standards and technologies relevant to clinical data solutions. Prior to his work in informatics, he was the Chief Medical Officer at Optimum Life Reinsurance and the Lead Medical Director for Prudential International Insurance responsible for global innovation for Prudential’s markets in Asia and Latin America.

Dr. Pinho has practiced Medicine for close to 20 years – he is dual board certified in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics and is a Diplomat of the Board of Insurance Medicine. He is board eligible for the American Board of Preventive Medicine (Clinical Informatics) and plans to test in 2023. He spent over a decade practicing both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics at PASE Healthcare, a medical practice serving over 8,000 patients that he founded and ran as sole proprietor. As part of his clinical experiences, he has practiced in various care settings globally ranging from poor village clinics in Haiti to concierge practice in Singapore. Dr. Pinho remains clinically active, while also heavily involved in public speaking and publication in industry journals.

He earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering science from New Jersey Institute of Technology and his medical degree from Rutgers – New Jersey Medical School. He is currently enrolled in a Biomedical Informatics Masters Program with Rutgers University. He is an active volunteer in local and national leadership roles with the Arthritis Foundation and in an organization that provides on-site and remote care to a village-based clinic near Leogane, Haiti.
