As Vice President of Analytics for Preston Capital, Mr. McLaughlin is responsible for supporting the firm’s in-house data and asset-level analytics efforts, risk management, and due diligence for the firm’s life settlements deal team. Prior to joining Preston Capital in 2025, Mr. McLaughlin was the Director of Investor Relations at Obra Capital, Inc. (formerly known as Vida Capital, Inc.), a specialized alternative asset manager with a focus on longevity-contingent investment products and solutions. In this role, Mr. McLaughlin was responsible for overseeing and supporting the firm’s investor relations and business development initiatives, as well as managing and fostering relationships with existing and prospective investors, across multiple insurance- and credit-related investment verticals. Over his 7+ year tenure at Obra Capital, Mr. McLaughlin also held roles within the firm’s Portfolio Analytics & Risk and Portfolio Management business units. Preceding Obra Capital, Mr. McLaughlin began his career at J.P. Morgan, holding positions within the firm’s Global Index Research department as a Calculation Agent, as well as the Asset Pricing and Reference Data department as a Sr. Securities Pricing Analyst. Mr. McLaughlin graduated magna cum laude from St. Edward’s University with a BBA in Finance and a BBA in Economics.
